Brynna & Patrick // Military Aviation Museum Wedding

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend! Up on the blog today is Brynna and Patrick’s wedding at the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach. I’ve had seriously the BEST couples so far in 2019! I was so excited to meet and welcome these two to the Sami Roy Photography family!

Brynna got ready and prepped for her big day at the Westin Town Center. From the second I walked through the door, everyone was calm, cool and friendly. I walked through the door looking like a drowned rat because the rain really kicked up right before I walked into the hotel! Nobody seemed to care though, haha.

Now on to the wedding! I’ve been to the Aviation Museum many times. It is right down the street in Pungo and my son is 3 and love planes and the dinosaurs out front! But this was actually my first wedding at the venue! (I’ve already had a lot of “firsts” this year!) It was the PERFECT venue for these two! Patrick is a pilot in the Navy and his father was a pilot as well!

Regardless of the rain, the day couldn’t have been more perfect. Unfortunately, they had to move the ceremony inside to the second floor. I was very excited for them to be married in front of the aircrafts on the runway (que sad face), but mother nature likes to do what she wants, so it was moved inside. But not to worry, it was just as perfect and beautiful!

But GUESS WHAT? Right as we were done family photos inside in the hangar, the sky opened up and showed its blue self and we were able to go outside for couples portraits on the runway.. eeeeeek!

From now on, I’m going to list my top three things that I love about each wedding that I photograph. Weddings are so unique and I want to always highlight my favorite part of wedding days!

Their daughter Pearl was involved in everything from beginning to end. She came down the aisle with Patrick and then asked for her mother in the middle of the ceremony. It was so adorable.
Soooo, for their first dance, they had smoke machines make the dance floor look like they were dancing on clouds. How. Freaking. Cool. #weddinggoals
