Elegant, Beautiful and Extremely Fun!
Coming to you today is Steven and Liz’s wedding from last Saturday at the BEAUTIFUL Cavalier Hotel, in Virginia Beach, VA.
From the second we walked through the doors, we were on photographer overload. “OOOh lets shoot there, ooo lets photograph them there! OOOhh.. Look at that couch.. ooo look at that chandelier..” You get the point, I don’t think I have to go on, haha. Wait, just one more, there was a MUSTARD YELLOW VELVET COUCH in their suite. Alrighty, seriously, I’m done.
The Cavalier Hotel was one of the most beautiful venues I’ve ever had the honor to photograph at! You almost feel like you’ve gone back in time once you step foot through the front doors of the Hotel. There is a “sense of timeless elegance and glamour” (their words, not mine) that radiates in every room and nook and cranny in the hotel.
Liz and Steven met later on and life but their love story is one that you just want to learn more about and be apart of. After hearing all of their loved ones talk about how much they love one another, I just couldn’t help but want to hear more. You can see how much love they have for one another in the photos.
I am often greeted by warmth and appreciation when I walk in on a wedding day, but they took it to a whole new level!! Not only did Liz and Steven treat us like we were apart of their family, but so did their kids and loved ones. I’m going to be honest with you, I was tempted to stay and hang out after we finished taking photos! It was just that much fun to be around them!
From now on, I’m going to list my top three things that I love about each wedding that I photograph. Weddings are so unique and I want to always highlight my favorite part of wedding days!
So here we go, here are three things that I loved about their Cavalier Hotel wedding:
- They kept things simple! Both the ceremony and the reception were at the hotel. So no one had to go far to partake in any of the wedding activities.
- Liz made a Game of Thrones themed cake and wrote: “Steve, you are my sun and stars”. I can’t even begin to tell you how big a GoT fan I am! I’ve read all the books, so this just made my freaking day!
- She said “I do” in Jimmy Choos!! I know this is silly, but I just love myself some Jimmy Choos. They are always so pretty and the perfect shoes to wear on your wedding day!
Congrats again, Steven and Liz! And P.S., is it too much to ask that you put me on the invite list for any of your future get-togethers…? Ha!
